I grew up in South Texas and went to high school in Ponce, Puerto Rico. I come from a Mexican background and am fluent in Spanish. I enjoy physical fitness, sports, and outdoor activities.
Although I grew up in Texas, I spent most of my childhood summers in a small pueblo called Cerralvo Nuevo Leon, Mexico. At a young age, I worked on construction sites, this engraved a strong work ethic within me. I was also witness to my mother's lack of healthcare growing up. Due to language barriers she rarely visited or listened to American doctors.
My father, who could barely speak English, enlisted in the Coast Guard and retired as an officer. He inspired me to enlist in the AirForce, five years later I became a cardiopulmonary technician and participated in Critical Care Air Transportation.
Academic Background
In 2018 I was accepted into Linda Loma University as a part of their Physician Assistant program.
Passion For Community
In 2019 I visited Sierra Leone, Africa while completing my PA program. Through this, I learned how the Ebola pandemic affected a small hospital. Soon after returning home, we faced the COVID-19 pandemic. These experiences amplified my passion for community. Then, I decided to pursue this project to provide underserved communities with access to healthcare.
